Information and Referral Services
Intake workers answer phone calls and meet with the general public to provide information regarding any and /or all services available to address identified needs.  Referrals may be made to outside agencies, if appropriate. Individuals with questions about community resources or needing agency services may contact an intake worker by phone at:  (218) 824-1140.

Recruitment and Licensing of Adult Foster Care Homes
There are approximately sixty-two adult foster care homes licensed by Crow Wing County Social Services.  Local foster homes are an integral part of the continuum of community-based services.  Foster care homes may provide emergency placement services and respite care in addition to traditional foster care services.  If you are interested in more information about adult foster care please call (218) 824-1140 and ask for the adult foster care licensor.

Adult Protection and Vulnerable Adult Investigations
Adult Protection strives to improve the quality of life for Crow Wing County's most vulnerable citizens. These individuals are unable to protect themselves or provide for their own physical, emotional or mental needs due to age or handicapping conditions. Adult Protection Services focus on safety and well being but also works towards reducing neglect, abuse or exploitation of vulnerable adults through outreach and education. Vulnerable Adult Investigations are completed in conjunction with the Crow Wing County.

Assessments for home care services and discharge planning for senior citizens and disabled adults
Preadmission Screenings are provided to assist persons considering nursing home placement, assist in discharge planning and recommend alternative services as appropriate. Alternative Community programs available includes Alternative Care Program, Elderly Waiver, and Community Alternatives for Disabled Individuals and Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver. These programs are intended to promote community living and independence by providing appropriate health care and support services based on individual needs. Crow Wing County Senior Advocate Program
Senior advocate program is an information and referral source for Senior Citizens in Crow Wing County. They provide seniors information concerning social, economic, financial and health-related services.  Advocates are available to talk with county seniors at area Senior Centers/Clubs or by phone.  To contact your Senior Linkage Line: Kathie Phillips 218-824-6086.
